So if you don't know me, just last week I was diagnosed with Candida. This is something that can be treated and can go away, and the way to treat it is to eat simply. No processed foods. No sugars. No wheat. No dairy. If you don't know me, you wouldn't know my passion for food and especially sweets! I thought that when I was diagnosed that it was truly the end of the world. I have two young kids and I am always on the go, picking up snacks from here and there. I enjoy food so much and started to grieve these foods that I wasn't going to be able to eat for a long time. The first day was especially hard. I cried and cried... a lot! But its been a week and I have found some very easy, very delicious meals and snacks to make.
My goal is to help everyone eat healthier, feel better and understand nutrition a lot better. If you are serious about losing weight or helping your family or yourself eat healthier, this is a good place to start. I would suggest to subscribe to my posts, so that you will always know when I update it. I am a mother of two young kids, a hard working husband and I am a photographer. My life is very busy, but my goal is to try and update whenever I have something fun and yummy to share with you all.
My first challenge to you is to start reading your labels when you shop. Look at what you are putting in your mouths. For example, most Ketchup has sugar in them. Find another Ketchup that doesn't have sugar. Most maple syrups aren't REAL maple syrups. They are sugar with maple flavoring. READ YOUR LABELS! If you have questions, please feel free to contact me! Also, don't buy anything that says "enriched" or "bleached."

Have you checked out the site: 100daysofrealfood.com?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds similar to what you are doing - except local dairy products allowed (and whole wheat). We just did the 10 day challenge. It was pretty neat. I realized what items I can really do without (and which ones I can't!)
I'm looking forward to seeing new recipes!
